2023 FALL WALLEYE SLAM OFFICIAL RULES
WEIGH IN RULES
- Only 1 fish per participant can be weighed and registered at any time.
- Multiple fish can be registered but at different times.
- Fish will be weighed and measured to the nearest 1/4th inch.
- The winning fish will be determined by weight with length used as a tiebreaker.
- If weight and length are the same, the second tiebreaker will be first entered.
- Each subsequent fish registered supersedes any previous fish.
- When weighing in a fish, the fish will be scanned by a metal detector.
- We reserve the right to seize any fish, for any reason, for further inspection after the fish is weighed
in. If the Walleye Slam or Walleye Fall Brawl seizes a fish, the length and weight will be held pending
further inspection. Pending inspection, the fish weight and length (score) will be honored by both
derbies. - Fish must be legally caught in accordance with Ohio laws.
PARTICIPANT RULES
- All fish must be caught by a registered participant.
- The participant weighing the fish owns and is fully responsible for that fish.
- All participants must have a valid fishing license if required by the state of Ohio.
- If fishing from a boat, only registered participants may be on board.
- Boats must be legally registered and equipped with all required equipment and safety devices in accordance with Ohio laws.
- The event will be held in the Ohio waters of Lake Erie (no Canadian or Michigan waters).
REGISTRATION RULES
- Registration forms must be legible, completed, signed, and dated by contestants to be considered valid for mail-in or drop-off at Erie Outfitters.
- We reserve the right to refuse registration for any reason.
MULTIPLE DERBY RULES
- Fish weighed in at other derbies are allowed to be weighed in the Walleye Slam.
WOMENS, VETERANS, SHORE AND KAYAK RULES
- Same rules apply as the main event.
- These divisions are additional side pots.
- Participants who finish in the top 10 are not eligible for the side pot.
KIDS DIVISION RULES
- Same rules apply as the main event.
- These divisions are additional side pots.
- Participants who finish in the top 10 are not eligible for the side pot.
PRIZES RULES
- Grand prize boat winner for the new Summer Slam and Fall Slam titles on the boat, motors, and trailer will be transferred after a lie detector test is passed, and a W-9 is completed and returned. The Walleye Slam and Walleye Fall Brawl will be using the same lie detector company and questions.
Participants disqualified in the Walleye Fall Brawl will be disqualified in the Walleye Slam.
When weighing in a fish, the fish will be scanned by a metal detector. - All winners are responsible for tax liabilities.
- In case of a tie for the same weight and length for the Grand Prize, it will be broken by first entered.
- In the event of a tie for cash prizes 2nd-10th, the places will be added and split evenly.
